Hot Pepper Seeds
If you wish to spice up your life and your organic garden, I recommend planting certified organic hot pepper seeds. There are actually thousands of organic hot pepper varieties in the world, but only 5 commonly domesticated species.
Save an open sunny spot in your garden for these semi-tropical perennial hotties and make sure to give them plenty of water. Yes, they are perennial, though many people treat them as annuals because in most places, winter conditions are too cold.
Believe it or not, hot pepper seeds can grow quite well in a container indoors. But, the container must be big enough and have good drainage to prevent weak and shallow roots. Also, of course, there must be enough light and warmth. Saves walking outside to the garden! Just pick 'em and throw them on the stove or in the oven.
Certified organic hot pepper seeds produce a surprisingly nutritious treat. They are high in both vitamin A and C (red varieties mainly) and the chemical that produces the "heat," capsaicin, actually increases your metabolism. That's quite a hot value!
