Planting herbs in tanks and planters

We can benefit greatly from herbs, cures and perfume. We will grow them in containers and place them in a place that is detached from the ground, covered, like a patio, balcony, window sill, or hanging baskets in one of the rooms of the house.

Which containers should you choose?

The container

First we have to choose a container suitable for growing. You can choose any type of container that will fit the needs of the plants that grow in it, pots and plastic or ceramic trays that can be found in nurseries, and to recycled containers from home, such as plastic boxes, tin boxes, polystyrene boxes, old china or wooden boxes. This is the place to let imagination go.

It is important that the volume of the vessel fits the size of the plant growing inside it - not too large, and certainly not too small, with a wide enough key to facilitate the development of the plant and make it easier to handle. At the bottom of the tank, it is important to have drainage holes of at least 1 cm in diameter. The drainage openings are important for the success of the tank's growth by allowing excess water to be drained from the tank.

The growth substrate

As a platform for growing the plants in containers, you can use the ready-made breeding substrates in the nursery, which contain a mixture that allows good anchoring of the plant, good water retention, ventilation of the substrate and chemical fertilizers. For those who are important to grow herbs, medicinal herbs and perfumes without chemical fertilizers, it is possible to prepare a mixture containing equal amounts of peat, compost, vermiculite or sand. Occasionally during the growing season enrich the container with additional compost.

Before filling the container with a substrate, a layer of stones - toph, pebbles or potsherds - should be placed at the bottom. This layer contributes to ventilating the substrate and draining water from the tank.

The plants can be grown in a variety of herbs, medicine and perfume - seasonal herbs, perennial herbs, perennial herbs and even larger shrubs. You can grow them in separate containers or create combinations of several plants in one container or plant.

When combining several plants in one tank, it is important to ensure that the container contains plants with similar water requirements. The recommended plants are herbs such as parsley, parsley, dill, fragrant sabbatical, coriander, grass, chrysanthemum, chrysanthemum, Or "Rashad" - cultural sands. These plants need frequent irrigation. Only one species can be grown in a box, so that there will be a large number of details, or a combination of them in a single plant. It is recommended to grow in a separate box, because of its rapid expansion by extensions, and its high water consumption
